Network Engineer

Cardiology Consultants of Philadelphia is a professional medical organization committed to the healing mission of Medicine. CCP specializes in providing comprehensive cardiology care and currently has over 30 locations throughout the Philadelphia area. We are currently hiring for a full time Network Engineer.

Primary Function:

  • This position will assist with network projects, including the deployment and maintenance of a reliable, secure, and efficient data communications network for a regional healthcare practice. Duties include the design and maintenance of data center, remote site and VPN networks and equipment. This position will also be responsible for assisting with diagnostic efforts to isolate network stability problems, as well as determining and implementing solutions. Strong Cisco background is required. Cisco certifications preferred.

Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain core routing for completely independent data center locations
  • Design and implement Site-to-Site VPNs to accommodate network redundancy for new and existing practice locations
  • Assist with supporting site-to-site ethernet network, including virtual private lines between data centers
  • Configure and maintain storage area networks for ISCSI infrastructure
  • Engineer network solutions for new sites and networking projects
  • Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves network problems for users of EMR & related software.
  • Able to quickly learn and support network technologies including Fortinet (Firewalls & NAC), SonicWALL VPNS, and Nessus security scanning
  • Assist in the development of monitoring as needed
  • Analyze and document existing network configurations.
  • Interpret industry standards and best practices and ensure that the network solutions currently used are secure and stable.
  • Evaluate and integrate reporting and analysis solutions.
  • Proactively works with clients and other technical support staff to resolve appropriate issues.
  • Develop scripts for consistent and secure execution of common tasks
  • Proactively raises issues if specifications, architecture, or implementation strategies will lead to quality or system performance issues or problems.
  • Participates in technical design reviews, functional specification reviews, and contributes to ongoing project estimates, scheduling, test plans, and code reviews.
  • Demonstrates self-directed and proactive approach to tackling problems and leveraging resources consistent with the overall goals of a project
  • This individual may also be called upon to perform projects and other activities by management.

Requirements:

  • Excellent Cisco skills
  • Experience with core technologies including SonicWALL VPNS, Fortinet (Firewalls and NAC), Citrix NetScaler and Ubiquiti Wireless
  • Experience with security, monitoring and reporting tools such as Nagios, SolarWinds, and Nessus
  • Experience with VMware, SAN networking with large data volumes.
  • Experience with networking storage area networks (iSCSI, fibre channel, SAN-SAN replication, etc.) with vendors like HPE Nimble, Dell PowerVault, Brocade ,EqLogic, Nexgen, and NetApp
  • Experience with EIGRP and OSPF routing protocols, VPN failover (coax/4G)
  • Experience with Comcast ENS fiber a plus
  • Experience with the support and maintenance of network related services including DHCP, DNS, and Radius.
  • Excellent analytical, process, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, communication skills, organized with attention to detail.
  • Experience implementing operational and analytical reporting solutions
  • Excellent understanding of networking concepts and strategies
  • Familiarity with Azure, Windows and Linux server environments and their network related functions (ADS, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Oracle and Citrix application environments and their network related functions (ONS, ICA, RDP, etc.)
  • Experience with PowerShell, Windows Command Line Scripting, or BASH a plus
  • This individual should have a high level of technical ability and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. A team-oriented individual with good oral and written skills is required for this position.
  • This individual may also be called upon to perform projects and other activities by management

  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in front of a computer. Must have an even temperament.
  • Individual must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, must be self-directed, confident, and able to work independently or as part of a team. The Position requires strong problem-solving skills.
  • This individual should have a high level of technical ability and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. A team-oriented individual with good oral and written skills is required for this position.

Educational/Training Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred.
  • Cisco Certification preferred.
